What happens before and after Hair Transplantation?
Before you fly
1. We’ll receive your application form and pictures and send them to our surgeons in Istanbul.
2. Our surgeons go through your questionnaire to see whether there are any contra indications for Hair Transplantation for you.
3. Furthermore you’ll receive a call from us in order to inform you about the results and surgery and travel packet costs.
4. When you decide to fly with Aesculapius Care Travel you’ll receive a written treatment plan.
5. Plan your stay well in Turkey. For example if you want to combine your treatment with an holiday it is more pleasure to plan it before your operation within the packet.
Before surgery
1. You have to have a good sleep before the operation day.
2. Wear a button-down shirt and comfortable, easily laundered pants.
3. Take your medicine which you daily use like blood pressure of diabetic medicine but let your doctor know what have you taken.
4. Two weeks before the operation
• No Rogaine or Minoxidil.
• No Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid - A.S.A.) or anti-inflammatory medications that contain Aspirin.
5. One week before the operation
• No use of Vitamin E
• No Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng or other herbal supplements.
Because these medicines cause longer period of blooding.
6. One day before surgery
• No use of Alcohol.
7. No hair cut at least 1 month before the operation if FUT technique is chosen. Maintain an adequate length of hair on the back of your head. Your donor will be removed from here and you should expect coverage following your procedure.
8. Bring your favourite DVD’s or let Aesculapius Care Travel agent know which films you’d like to watch during the operation.
9. After arrival at the clinic in Istanbul you will receive an initial of extensive evaluation by the surgeons. This will take please meanly on Friday before the operation.
On surgery day
1. Wash your hair in the morning, use your regular shampoo.
2. Have very light meal.
3. You’ll be taking painkillers before the operation under control of your surgeons. And everything will be translated to you that you will not have any doubts in your mind.
After Surgery
1. Patients usually wear a bandage. But they also receive an adjustable baseball cap to use a couple days after the operation to keep the operated area hygiene and dry.
2. Patients are provided with medication in the clinic.
3. Hair Transplantation Certificate in English that you’d be able prove by passport control at airports in the near future when your appearance looks different then your actual pas photo.
4. The evaluation takes place in the surgeons clinic in Turkey. This is 24 hours after de operation to see if the operation was technically successful.
5. Fast recovery on the back side of the hair enables patients go back to their normal live in a couple of days after the surgery. To feel yourself not uncomfortable because of the swallow forehead and wounds. Therefore it is recommended not have appointments within first 5-6 days after the surgery.
6. The stitches will be covered by your remained back hairs. After two weeks you can ask your family doctor to take your stitches off.
7. Patient will lose his implemented hair within 2-4 weeks after the operation. But within 2,5-3 months time there grows new hair up.
8. Patients can wash your hair with shampoo 2 days after the operation and even can swim. But you should not sit in the sun without having a hat or any other protective solutions.
9. You will be feeling numbed till 4-5 months after the surgery. Taking Vitamin B complex tablets helps for quick recovery. |
